How to Save Hours of Work a Week (Real Estate Edition)

Regardless of how many hours you work in a day, not all of that time is going to be completely productive. Sometimes it’s because of procrastination, other times it’s because you’ve been so bogged down in “busy work” that you haven’t made progress on important tasks. In the real estate industry, a business becomes successful when you have more clients but more clients means more work. So it is all about how you will be able to manage everything simultaneously.

With managing a real estate business, every minute is important. So here are some tips on how to save hours of work a week:

1. Set a strict start time.

Every day, set the time when you should start working and wake up early to give you enough time to prepare yourself physically and mentally. Follow it strictly as sticking with a routine can help a lot in being productive. Once it becomes a habit, doing your everyday work will become more efficient.

2. Do a quick brain dump every Monday morning.

Every Monday morning, set aside a few minutes to write down all tasks for the week. As a real estate agent, your work week surely consists of paperworks,, meetings, property visits, and admin tasks. All of these can get overwhelming. To get them out of your head, write down everything that you have to do for the week on paper or in a Google doc. This way, you’ll be able to prioritize and organize your tasks. No more staring into space in the morning thinking about what should be the first task that you should do.

3. Set up an email auto-reply during certain hours.

Being an agent requires a lot of out-of-office errands. This means that you won’t be able to stay on standby in your inbox all the time. Set up an email auto-reply that lets people know you’ll be able to check your email and reply during a certain schedule. This will help you save time by not having to constantly check your email. Also, it will let you focus on other things as this email auto-reply will save you from clients suddenly calling you to ask why you aren’t responding to their email.

4. Create a strict agenda for every meeting.

As part of client servicing, it is important to maintain a healthy relationship with them. And with our effort to build rapport with our clients, we sometimes get carried away during meetings and tend to go off-topic. By following a strict agenda for every meeting, you get to save time and ensure that you discuss everything that needs to be covered.

These are just a few tips on how to save time throughout your work week. In addition to following these tips, it is also best to find a system that works for you and your business.
