Did you know that there is more that you can do to make your work area more organized? As realtors, our work days are always jam-packed with a lot of tasks and meetings. Hence, having an organized workspace can make every day more efficient and productive.
Here are some tips on how you can organize your workspace:
1. Purge your work area.
A clutter-free area helps you have a clutter-free mind. It will help you think clearly and proceed with working comfortably for the rest of the day. Get rid of everything you don’t need or aren’t using anymore. Check all your drawers and throw out or donate everything that you aren’t using anymore. Make sure that every item has its own space and that there is still a lot of free space on your desk where you can work.
2. Organize everything based on function.
To make working more efficient, organize everything based on their function. Put all documents together, pens and highlighters should all go inside the pen holder, and keep a container for paper clips and other small items. Furthermore, assess which items you use regularly and keep those items easily accessible. This is to avoid the hassle of rummaging through your work stuff all the time.
3. Organize your wires.
One major thing that affects the look and organization of your workspace are the electrical wires. Organizing these cables can be a bit challenging as you cannot just get rid of them. A bunch of tangled wires can be an eyesore. To make it look less cluttered, use cable ties and set a designated space for the power strip.
4. Decorate your space.
Working and staying in one area for long hours can be tiring. Make working in your area less boring by decorating your space. Include happy photos of you with your family and friends to motivate you to work hard. Add a plant or a vase with fresh flowers to liven up the space. Add something that will put a smile on your face whenever you look at it.
