How To Use Social Media For Real Estate

In today’s Internet age, almost everyone is on social media. According to Statista, more than 3.6 billion people are using social media as of 2020. As a real estate agent, social media is one of the best tools you can use to get more clients and close more deals.

If you want to grow your real estate business, you need to use social media effectively. Here are some tips.

1. Choose the right social media platforms.

There are tons of social media platforms out there, but that doesn’t mean you have to be on every one of them. It’s not about having a presence on all social media platforms. It’s about choosing the right social media platforms and maximizing their effectiveness to reach your real estate marketing goals.

The question is: how do you choose which social media platforms to use? While there are many factors to consider, your choices depend on your target audience. If your goal is to reach more young professionals, then Facebook and Instagram are great options. You can also try TikTok. Many real estate agents and marketers from a wide range of industries now use TikTok to promote their products and services.

2. Communicate with your audience.

Avoid using social media just to sell properties. You see countless brands on social media focused on just pushing their products every day, and chances are you don’t like it. People don’t want a constant barrage of pointless ads. They want information, and real estate is no different.

To maximize your presence, use social media for what it’s actually for, which is connecting with other people. For example, if you’re on Reddit, you can do an AMA (ask me anything) on real estate and educate your audience about yourself and how you can help them. On Facebook, you can go on Facebook Live to host a Q&A session.

There are so many other things you can do to communicate with your target audience, but the point is to connect with them on a personal level instead of just telling them to buy what you’re selling.

3. Tell real stories.

Brands use social media to post all sorts of content day in and day out. What separates successful brands from others is their ability to tell compelling stories that grab their audience’s attention. Social media is a great place to tell stories that involve real people—people who are similar to your target audience.

When posting new social media content, consider posting a customer success story on a platform such as Instagram. Talk to recent clients who were happy with you and your services. Ask them for testimonials, which can either be in print or video and ask permission to publish those testimonials on your social media. You can also include stunning images of these clients enjoying their new homes.

Customer success stories and other similar types of content are great because they show your target audience that you value more than just selling real estate and keeping money in your pockets. They show your audience that you value their happiness, which goes a long way in building trust. When your audience trusts you, they will be far more willing to do business with you and recommend you to other people.
