Here’s how to choose the right images for your blog!

Are you spending a lot of time finding the right images for your blog? I hear you! I’ve been there, too! After working on a good blog post, of course, we want to make it look even better by including relevant photos that will catch the attention of our readers. It might be boring for them to scroll down a whole blog post just full of text. Photos will give their eyes a break and will make your blog look more interesting.

Here are some tips on how to choose the right images for your blog:

1. Find a credible source.

When planning to use stock photos, make sure to find a credible source. Do not just search for images in Google and save them. Make sure to use them legally. There are a lot of stock photography websites that you can get free images from. Here are a few of my fav’s. Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash or Freepix. As a courtesy, you can give credit to the owner of the image by adding a link to their site in your post.

2. Avoid generic images.

You might be tempted to use generic images in our blog posts. When talking about tips for first-time homebuyers, you might think that the best image that you could include is a photo of a smiling homebuyer and real estate agent. This is a relevant image but if all real estate blog posts use this kind of photo, it can look passé. You need to use a unique and striking image for your blog to stand out.

3. Choose images with the right colors.

Do not just use any image that you think is relevant to your blog. Think about how it will look on your website. To stay unique among other realtors, branding is important. Choose images that are aligned with your brand. Make sure that the colors of the image you will use will complement the theme of your website.

4. Optimize your images for search.

Aside from choosing the right image, how you use it on your blog plays an important role in the searchability of your blog. To help with search engine optimization, include descriptive alt tags. Also, name your images properly. It can be your image description and a keyword from your blog. Using proper names and tags will help with the visibility of your blog online.
